In this role you will support automated testing equipment, test systems, PLC, HMI and SCADA software in a brand new manufacturing plant. You will become the subject matter expert in this area to support consumer quality targets, annual production goals and continuous improvement actions that contribute to the factory profitability. You provide expertise and guidance as it relates to electrical, control and automation systems. The successful candidate will be a technical leader, fostering collaboration and team building while upholding the organization’s core values. You will be a technical expert throughout the lifecycle for automated equipment and systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical and controls subject matter expert
- Subject matter expert on product testing requirements, software flashing, test procedures and equipment.
- Implement improvements into existing systems to increase productivity and process control.
- Problem solve chronic issues and implement solutions to prevent re-occurrences
- Maintain and verify test plans for assembly and sub-assembly areas (manual and robotic test areas)
- Introduce new products into the assembly process
- Implement improvements into existing controls and automation systems to increase productivity and process control
- Continuously assess and optimize the use of automation and control systems
- Support the standardization of common processes and automation solutions
- Research and facilitate innovative solutions for smart and optimal manufacturing processes

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications):
- Engineering Degree (Bachelor or Master)
- 5+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 7+ years’ experience with automation and controls (PLC, HMI and SCADA systems). Siemens required
- Electrical and basic circuit understanding (grounding, voltages, etc)
- OPC (Client & Server), Siemens TIA Portal, Vision Systems, Industrial Networks
- Experience with robotic work cells and conveyor systems
- Problem solving

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone. The employee frequently is required to walk and participate in activities on the factory floor. The employee is occasionally required to sit for extended times at a computer, drive and travel to vendor sites. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
